FREMEAU, Robert T.

ROBERT THOMAS FREMEAU

Robert Thomas Fremeau Sr. 82, of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away on September 14, 2014. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1932. While visiting relatives in Florida in 2011, he became ill, making him unable return to his home in Maryland. He has resided in assisted living in Tavares, Florida since then. He was a retired lithographer for the Government Printing Office, and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), Chapter 251, in Annapolis, Maryland. While living in Florida, he was affiliated with St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church of Eustis. Robert was a US Army Veteran (Sergeant), having served during the Korean War period as a Fire Chief in Berlin, Germany. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, P.G. Council #2809 of College Park, Maryland and #1384 of Annapolis, Maryland. He was a member of the University of Maryland Terrapin Club, which honored him as a Heritage Society Member acknowledging his 35 year membership. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2003; they were married for 48 years. He is survived by his children, Robert Thomas Fremeau, Jr. of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Greg Fremeau of Leesburg, Florida and Mary (Andy) Kranking of Burtonsville, Maryland; his brother Jerome Michael Fremeau of Leesburg, Florida, sister Jean Rosser of Eustis, Florida, and grandchildren: Paul Graham Fremeau, Lucie Ann Fremeau, Kathryn Elizabeth Kranking, Cara Marie Kranking, Emily Lynne Kranking, Stephen Nicholas Kranking and Timothy Andrew Kranking. Relatives and friends may call at Church of the Resurrection, 3315 Greencastle Road, Burtonsville,MD, on Friday, September 26, from 10 to 11 a.m, where the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Interment Maryland Veteran’s Cemetery – Crownsville.

Also survived by 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Hildreth served in the United States Army and was a retired Sergeant of the Metropolitan Police Department, Special Operations Division.

YVONNE GAPP NOVAK

Passed away peacefully on September 14, 2014 in Silver Spring, MD. Born in Langdon, ND, she was the beloved daughter of Joseph J. Gapp and Loretta Knaus Gapp. She graduated from St. Alphonsus High School, Langdon, ND and Aaker’s Business College, Grand Forks, ND. She was a member of the Womens’ Club at Resurrection Catholic Church, the FCE of Burtonsville, and the Burtonsville Garden Club. For eight years, she was the secretary at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Silver Spring. For 18 years, she was a volunteer at the Patient Support Services Office at the Washington Cancer Institute, Washington, DC. One of her great joys was traveling to 27 countries and 50 states. She was the wife of Roman Novak for 53 years and the loving mother of Spencer, Blaine, and Cordell (daughter-in-law, Michele). She was the devoted grandmother of Maxwell and Tessa Novak. She was the sister of Jolene Hoepfner (Gene), Donna Gapp, Sonya Heck (Donald), and the sister-in-law of Judith Gapp (David). She has many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, David Gapp, and son, Officer Blaine Novak. On Saturday, September 20, 2014, a memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, 12319 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD. Family and friends will be received prior to the Mass beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blaine Novak Oncology Nurses Educational Fund, East Building, Room 1001, 110 Irving Street NW, Washington, DC 20010-2975.
